HOYTS family tickets provide a significant saving compared to buying individual tickets. For G and PG rated movies, save big for groups of 3 or 4 on standard cinema sessions.

Plus, there’s a great line-up of excellent family movies coming to HOYTS over the holidays, said Director of Sales, Marketing and Content Stephanie Mills.

“The two movies every family will want to see this summer are Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” she said.

“Family favourite Puss in Boots makes his return for the first film in the Shrek franchise in over a decade. Having burnt through eight of his nine lives, Puss enters a swashbuckling adventure to find the Wishing Star that can restore his lost lives. Antonio Banderas voices Puss alongside Selma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws. New additions to Puss’ merry band of co-stars include Florence Pugh, Olivia Coleman and Harvey Guillén.

“Many families will already be familiar with Bernard Waber’s book Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and the story of the Primm family and the singing crocodile in their attic. This movie brings the beloved character to life in a live action and CGI musical comedy, which will appeal to the littlies in the family as well as older kids, with pop sensation Shawn Mendes voicing Lyle the crocodile.”

Both movies release on Boxing Day, but there are plenty of other options in the lead up to Christmas. New from Disney is Strange World, an animated sci-fi adventure film about a family of explorers who must set aside their differences to take on their most important mission ever.

For the older kids, opening New Year’s Day is Blueback, an Australian feature film based on Tim Winton’s novel of the same name. A young woman befriends a blue groper while diving and becomes a passionate activist for saving the reef. The movie stars Mia Wasikowska, Rahda Mitchell, Erik Thomson and Eric Bana.

And for an all-audience favourite, Avatar: The Way of Water will equally be a hit with any age group. This highly anticipated sequel to the highest grossing movie of all time received nearly one hundred and fifty million views on its teaser trailer in the first twenty-four hours. Be prepared to be blown out of the water by this epic sequel following the Sully family and the battles and tragedies they endure. See it on the biggest screen in HOYTS Xtremescreen, where you can watch in awe from comfy recliner seats. It is a must-see in 3D.
