Open Caption (OPEN CAP) sessions feature text and sound descriptions displayed on the cinema screen and are visible to all cinema guests. Open Captions is available at all HOYTS cinemas, look for the OC icon next to the session times.
Closed Captioning
Our Closed Caption (CC) sessions provide guests with text and sound descriptions displayed on a small LED display screen with a bendable support arm, that fits into the seat cup holder. Closed Caption sessions run at all HOYTS locations, look for the CC icon next to the session times.
Sensory Screenings
We’re delighted to host special sensory screenings one Saturday morning each month at all HOYTS cinema locations. We’ll dim the lights and soften the volume so anyone with autism or sensory needs can feel safe in a calming and accepting environment. Our hope is that guests with sensory difficulties become more familiar with the cinema environment.
Melbourne Children’s Hospital
HOYTS is proud to partner with the Melbourne Children’s Hospital by providing a HOYTS Beanbag Cinema, equipped to accommodate hospital beds and other medical equipment. Inpatients, outpatients, their siblings, parents or carers can enjoy the most recently released G or PG-rated movies for FREE.
