Melbourne Children’s Hospital
HOYTS is proud to partner with the Melbourne Children’s Hospital by providing a HOYTS Beanbag Cinema, equipped to accommodate hospital beds and other medical equipment. Inpatients, outpatients (with an appointment on the same day), their siblings, parents or carers can enjoy the most recently released G or PG-rated movies for FREE.
- Family Sessions (child friendly) are held at 10.30am Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 2pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- 'Mum and Dad' movie sessions are held 7pm Thursday and Saturday evenings.
Inpatients must have signed approval from a clinician on their ward that they are well enough to attend, and children aged under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or carer. Children aged 12 and over can attend a screening unaccompanied, however inpatients should have an accompanying carer.
Bookings for these screenings are essential and can be made through the Family Hub at Melbourne Children’s Hospital by calling (03) 9345 4662 or in person by visiting the Family Hub located on the Ground Floor North Building.
Due to limited seating, outpatients can only book in person on the day of their appointment. The cinema is a food and drink-free zone.
